Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection, which included the work Waterfall in Telemarken Norway by Hermann Herzog. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 56,700.00 (€ 52,837.57). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hermann Herzog - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Florida Sunset, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 230,500.00 (€ 165,600.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waterfall in Telemarken Norway von Hermann Herzog zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 56.700,00 (€ 52.837,57) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Hermann Herzog mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Florida Sunset beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für USD 230.500,00 (€ 165.600,98) versteigert wurde.
