In October 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Twilight In The Courtyard by Hermann Dudley Murphy for USD 4,063.00 (€ 2,988.82). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Hermann Dudley Murphy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gardenia in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 26,917.90).
