Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Monadock by Hermann Dudley Murphy. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,096.00 (€ 3,778.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Hermann Dudley Murphy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gardenia in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 26,917.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Monadock von Hermann Dudley Murphy zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.096,00 (€ 3.778,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hermann Dudley Murphy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gardenia im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 26.917,90).
