Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hermann Dudley Murphy could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Iris changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,159.29) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hermann Dudley Murphy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gardenia in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 36,000.00 (€ 26,917.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hermann Dudley Murphy konnte im April 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Iris für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.159,29) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hermann Dudley Murphy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gardenia im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 36.000,00 (€ 26.917,90).
