Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Two Cowboys on Horseback by Herman Wendleborg Hansen for USD 5,736.00 (€ 4,940.99). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herman Wendleborg Hansen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Attack on the Stagecoach in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 107,323.77).
