Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The dance of desire by Heri Dono was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 84,000.00 (€ 9,190.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Heri Dono - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work KUDA BINAL (WILD HORSE), which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,401.30).
