In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Reformasi Mahabharata (The Mahabharata Reform) by Heri Dono. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 112,500.00 (€ 12,674.81), 61% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Heri Dono - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work KUDA BINAL (WILD HORSE), which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,401.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reformasi Mahabharata (The Mahabharata Reform) von Heri Dono zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 12.674,81) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Heri Dono mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit KUDA BINAL (WILD HORSE) beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 275.000,00 (€ 31.401,30) versteigert wurde.
