Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work Hercules wrestling with Death for the soul of Alcestis by Herbert Thomas Dicksee for GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,708.39). This price was achieved in the auction The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Herbert Thomas Dicksee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dying Lion in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 91,562.90).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Hercules wrestling with Death for the soul of Alcestis von Herbert Thomas Dicksee für GBP 2.268,00 (€ 2.708,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Isabel Goldsmith Collection: Selected Pre-Raphaelite and Symbolist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Herbert Thomas Dicksee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dying Lion im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.500,00 (€ 91.562,90).
