In September 2003 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Ullswater by Henry Thomas Dawson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,760.00 (€ 3,787.35), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Thomas Dawson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Danish steamer moored alongside a busy dock in Portsmouth in April this year with an auction result of GBP 25,500.00 (€ 29,061.68).

Im September 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ullswater von Henry Thomas Dawson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.760,00 (€ 3.787,35) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Thomas Dawson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Danish steamer moored alongside a busy dock in Portsmouth im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.500,00 (€ 29.061,68).
