Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Boating into Plymouth Squall Coming On' by Henry Thomas Dawson was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,280.00 (€ 1,469.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Thomas Dawson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Danish steamer moored alongside a busy dock in Portsmouth in April this year with an auction result of GBP 25,500.00 (€ 29,061.68).
