Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 14,360.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Thomas Dawson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Danish steamer moored alongside a busy dock in Portsmouth, which sold at auction in April this year for GBP 25,500.00 (€ 29,061.68).
