Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Trompe l'Oeil Still Life of Hanging Trout 18 x 12 in. by Henry Suydam was sold in the Studio Art auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in December last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 892.50 (€ 834.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Suydam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Going Fishing in April 2012 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,338.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Trompe l'Oeil Still Life of Hanging Trout 18 x 12 in. von Henry Suydam wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Studio Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 892,50 (€ 834,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Suydam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Going Fishing im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.338,73).
