This artwork by Henry Suydam achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2010. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Hudson River sold for USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,109.55) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry Suydam; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Going Fishing sold at auction in April 2012 with the realized price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,338.73).
