In April 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Landscape With Cows by Henry Suydam. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,604.90) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Suydam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Going Fishing, which sold at auction in April 2012 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,338.73).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape With Cows von Henry Suydam zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.604,90) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Suydam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Going Fishing beobachtet, die im April 2012 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.338,73) versteigert wurde.
