Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Moonlight On The River Severn With Worcester Cathedral by Henry Pether for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,777.33). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Pether - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of The Thames By Moonlight, Towards London Bridge, With The Tower of London And Traitors' Gate In The Foreground, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,550.94).
