Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Walking with the Ducks by Henry Pember Smith. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,935.00 (€ 5,487.60), 23% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Pember Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Morning at Hamilton--Bermuda, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 10,575.00 (€ 12,461.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Walking with the Ducks von Henry Pember Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.935,00 (€ 5.487,60) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Pember Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Morning at Hamilton--Bermuda beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 10.575,00 (€ 12.461,70) versteigert wurde.
