Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry Pember Smith could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in August last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Edge of the Pond changed hands for USD 956.25 (€ 950.07) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Pember Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Morning at Hamilton--Bermuda in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 10,575.00 (€ 12,461.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Henry Pember Smith konnte im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Edge of the Pond für USD 956,25 (€ 950,07) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Pember Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Morning at Hamilton--Bermuda im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.575,00 (€ 12.461,70).
