Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2003 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Mid-Summer Landscape, Connecticut by Henry Pember Smith. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,736.00 (€ 4,553.47). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Pember Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Morning at Hamilton--Bermuda, which sold at auction in October 2000 for USD 10,575.00 (€ 12,461.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mid-Summer Landscape, Connecticut von Henry Pember Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.736,00 (€ 4.553,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry Pember Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Morning at Hamilton--Bermuda beobachtet, die im Oktober 2000 für USD 10.575,00 (€ 12.461,70) versteigert wurde.
