Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mist Rising From The Sea by Henry Moore, R.A. was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,507.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Moore, R.A. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Family Group in June last year with an auction result of GBP 315,000.00 (€ 365,940.40).
