Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work The Playhouse by Henry Koerner. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,586.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Koerner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Pigeons in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 576,600.00 (€ 510,853.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Playhouse von Henry Koerner zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.586,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Koerner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Pigeons im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 576.600,00 (€ 510.853,19).
