This artwork by Henry James Holiday achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2021. In the British and European Art auction, the work Jacob's ladder: a design for a stained glass window at St Mary & St Stephen, Wolsingham sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,801.73) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry James Holiday; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sara, belle d'indolence sold at auction in December 2020 with the realized price of GBP 55,000.00 (€ 61,439.90).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Henry James Holiday; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sara, belle d'indolence im Dezember 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 55.000,00 (€ 61.439,90).
