Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Christies held the auction An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection, which included the work Venus Rising From The Sea by Henry James Holiday. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,089.53) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry James Holiday have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sara, belle d'indolence in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 55,000.00 (€ 61,439.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Christies die Auktion An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venus Rising From The Sea von Henry James Holiday zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.089,53) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry James Holiday auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sara, belle d'indolence im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.000,00 (€ 61.439,90).
