Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Arundel Castle from Burpham, Sussex by Henry John Kinnaird. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 840.00 (€ 1,247.59), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry John Kinnaird - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View Near Evesham On The Avon, Warwickshire; And View On The Ouse, Sussex (Illustrated), which sold at auction in November 2005 for GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,583.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arundel Castle from Burpham, Sussex von Henry John Kinnaird zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.247,59) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Henry John Kinnaird mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View Near Evesham On The Avon, Warwickshire; And View On The Ouse, Sussex (Illustrated) beobachtet, die im November 2005 für GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.583,67) versteigert wurde.
