Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work A Sussex cornfield by Henry John Kinnaird for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,158.48). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry John Kinnaird - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View Near Evesham On The Avon, Warwickshire; And View On The Ouse, Sussex (Illustrated), which sold at auction in November 2005 for GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,583.67).
