Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fetching Water From Lake Garda by Henry Herbert La Thangue was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2013. The price achieved of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 80,087.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Herbert La Thangue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Leaving Home in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 666,650.00 (€ 973,287.97).
