The »bidding war« ended at GBP 284,750.00 (€ 332,918.95), 42% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Herbert La Thangue - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Leaving Home, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 666,650.00 (€ 973,287.97).
