Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calling to the Valley by Henry Herbert La Thangue was sold in the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 73,355.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Herbert La Thangue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Leaving Home in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 666,650.00 (€ 973,287.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calling to the Valley von Henry Herbert La Thangue wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 61.250,00 (€ 73.355,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Herbert La Thangue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Leaving Home im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 666.650,00 (€ 973.287,97).
