This artwork by Henry Garland achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2000. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work Faithful Friend sold for GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,721.72) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henry Garland; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Highlanders Going South sold at auction in August 2007 with the realized price of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,304.38).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Henry Garland; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Highlanders Going South im August 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.304,38).
