Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cattle on the banks of a river, autumn by Henry Charles Fox was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in March 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 418.25 (€ 626.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Charles Fox have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A shepherd driving sheep down a country lane with the harvesters beyond in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,762.50 (€ 2,828.16).
