Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Racing cutters by Henry C. Peabody was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 480.00 (€ 361.61). Admittedly, works by Henry C. Peabody have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jubilee; Merlin; and Constellation in February 2005 with an auction result of USD 3,120.00 (€ 2,350.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Racing cutters von Henry C. Peabody im Februar 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 480,00 (€ 361,61) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry C. Peabody auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jubilee; Merlin; and Constellation im Februar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.120,00 (€ 2.350,46).
