Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry C. Peabody could be acquired at Christies in New York in February 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime including Scientific & Medical Instruments auction, the work A regatta; The deck of Mayflower; and A Dayliner changed hands for USD 480.00 (€ 361.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Admittedly, works by Henry C. Peabody have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jubilee; Merlin; and Constellation in February 2005 with an auction result of USD 3,120.00 (€ 2,350.46).
