Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Rocks, Point Lobos by Henrietta Shore. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,363.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henrietta Shore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unity in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 310,091.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rocks, Point Lobos von Henrietta Shore zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.363,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henrietta Shore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unity im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 310.091,26).
