Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mexico by Henrietta Shore was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,322.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henrietta Shore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unity in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 310,091.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mexico von Henrietta Shore im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.322,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henrietta Shore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unity im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 310.091,26).
