This artwork by Henrietta Shore achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Beverly Hills in November 2004. In the CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS auction, the work Rocks, Point Lobos, No. 1 sold for USD 26,290.00 (€ 19,828.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henrietta Shore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unity in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 310,091.26).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Henrietta Shore erzielte im November 2004 bei Christies in Beverly Hills einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS wurde die Arbeit Rocks, Point Lobos, No. 1 für USD 26.290,00 (€ 19.828,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henrietta Shore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unity im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 310.091,26).
