Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Six Dessins : (I) Voilier (Ii) Paysage À Uri (Iii) Voilier Sur L'Eau (Iv) Bateau Au Loin (V) Paysage À Lucerne (Vi) Vue De Village, Temps Gris by Henri Edmond Cross was sold in the Oeuvres sur Papier auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Edmond Cross achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Faux Poivrier (Provence) in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,150,000.00 (€ 2,583,237.66).

Die Arbeit Six Dessins : (I) Voilier (Ii) Paysage À Uri (Iii) Voilier Sur L'Eau (Iv) Bateau Au Loin (V) Paysage À Lucerne (Vi) Vue De Village, Temps Gris von Henri Edmond Cross wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Oeuvres sur Papier bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Edmond Cross erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Faux Poivrier (Provence) im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.150.000,00 (€ 2.583.237,66).
