Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A family of sheep by a sheepfold; and A family of sheep by a tree by Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt was sold in the OLD MASTER PICTURES & DRAWINGS auction at Christies in London in December 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 7,610.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Boeren Buijtenvreugt': a wedding dance in a village in May 2002 with an auction result of EUR 35,850.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A family of sheep by a sheepfold; and A family of sheep by a tree von Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt wurde im Dezember 2004 in der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES & DRAWINGS bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.377,50 (€ 7.610,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Boeren Buijtenvreugt': a wedding dance in a village im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 35.850,00.
