In May 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Art, which included the work A winter landscape with figures skating on a frozen lake by Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,125.00 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Boeren Buijtenvreugt': a wedding dance in a village in May 2002 with an auction result of EUR 35,850.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2009 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A winter landscape with figures skating on a frozen lake von Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.125,00 und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hendrik Willem Schweickhardt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Boeren Buijtenvreugt': a wedding dance in a village im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 35.850,00.
