This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Paintings & Sculpture at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Hendrick van Steenwijk II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Jerome In His Study in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 429,565.85).
