In May 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art, which included the work Zonnig landschap: Cows in a Sunny Landscape by Jan Weissenbruch. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 13,750.00 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Weissenbruch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bomschuiten at sea on a cloudy day in April 2001 with an auction result of NLG 345,000.00 (€ 158,348.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Zonnig landschap: Cows in a Sunny Landscape von Jan Weissenbruch zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 13.750,00 und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Weissenbruch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bomschuiten at sea on a cloudy day im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 345.000,00 (€ 158.348,55).
