Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Young Man, Half Length, Wearing A Black Costume With Flat Collar And A White Chemise, And A White Satin Sash by Hendrick Verschuring was sold in the Old Master Paintings and British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in April 2010. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,754.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hendrick Verschuring have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Amorous Couple In A Stable With A Grey, A Bay Horse And Dogs in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 30,500.00 (€ 41,444.33).
