Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Bravo Smoking by Hendrick ter Brugghen was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2011. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 121,250.00 (€ 145,214.00). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick ter Brugghen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bagpipe Player In Profile in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 10,162,500.00 (€ 7,936,972.82).
