the complete set of thirty drypoint etchings, with justification, copy number 5, signed by Gerhart Hauptmann in black ink on the justification, from the deluxe edition of 30 (the total edition was 90), printed by Heinrich Graf, Munich, very good, rich impressions, on Japan, each signed in pencil, the full sheets, with deckle edges to one of more sides, all within the original thin card mounts, H. 504 with some pale scattered foxing in the lower margin, otherwise in excellent condition, within the original vellum-covered portfolio box, with the title in gilt on the front, the box with some minor wear and somewhat scratched and foxed(portfolio)

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 30 Radierungen zu Gerhart Hauptmanns Emanuel Quint, Gerhart Hauptmann Stiftung (?), 1927 (Hoh 488-517) by Heinrich Ehmsen was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2008. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,071.29). Admittedly, works by Heinrich Ehmsen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work „Portrait der Mutter“. in June 2015 with an auction result of EUR 10,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 30 Radierungen zu Gerhart Hauptmanns Emanuel Quint, Gerhart Hauptmann Stiftung (?), 1927 (Hoh 488-517) von Heinrich Ehmsen kam im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 2.071,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Heinrich Ehmsen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit „Portrait der Mutter“. im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.000,00.
