In December 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Temple of Aphaea in Aegina, Greece by Harry John Johnson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,460.34), 46% above the upper estimate. Other works by Harry John Johnson have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 22,100.00 (€ 30,945.72) in November 2007 for the work British Sounion.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.460,34) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
