Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Eleanor, Chicago, 1953 by Harry Callahan. The price achieved of USD 10,710.00 (€ 10,134.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harry Callahan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trees And Mist (Chicago, Trees In Snow) in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 254,500.00 (€ 207,062.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Eleanor, Chicago, 1953 von Harry Callahan zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.710,00 (€ 10.134,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harry Callahan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trees And Mist (Chicago, Trees In Snow) im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 254.500,00 (€ 207.062,08).
