Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Play Days by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 100,800.00 (€ 82,663.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Vine in May 2009 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 681,367.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Play Days von Harriet Whitney Frishmuth wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 82.663,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
