Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Girl with Frog (Frog Ashtray) by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,120.00 (€ 6,080.48). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Vine in May 2009 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 681,367.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl with Frog (Frog Ashtray) von Harriet Whitney Frishmuth zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.120,00 (€ 6.080,48) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harriet Whitney Frishmuth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Vine im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 681.367,69).
