Despite a disappointment, a good price for Harold Paris
When the work Wayfarer: The Dusk Hours of That Which Stands Before by Harold Paris was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 700.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 545.57). Despite this disappointing result, Wayfarer: The Dusk Hours of That Which Stands Before is the most expensive artwork by Harold Paris that we have observed at auction so far.
