Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Harold Haliday Costain was auctioned at Grisebach in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Haliday Costain - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Water Storage Tank, No. 1, Miami Florida, 1933, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,545.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Harold Haliday Costain kam im Juni 2016 bei Grisebach zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Harold Haliday Costain mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Water Storage Tank, No. 1, Miami Florida, 1933 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.545,94) versteigert wurde.
