Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2010 Christies in London held the auction Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera, which included the work High tension No.1, Installing Aerial by Harold Haliday Costain. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 937.50 (€ 1,084.32), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Harold Haliday Costain have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Water Storage Tank, No. 1, Miami Florida, 1933 in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,545.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera durch, in der auch die Arbeit High tension No.1, Installing Aerial von Harold Haliday Costain zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 937,50 (€ 1.084,32) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Harold Haliday Costain auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Water Storage Tank, No. 1, Miami Florida, 1933 im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.545,94).
