The work Rectangular Pond by Hans Op de Beeck was sold in the Contemporary Art | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,132.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Hans Op de Beeck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Modern Family House in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 47,283.56).
